Distributor, Coast Components, states that Alliance Memory’s purchase of Taiwanese manufacturer, Reliability, will bring manufacturing control closer to home. Sales manager at Coast, Nigel Bateman, commented: Alliance has always been a fabless manufacturer, which has its benefits but does on occasion prove to be challenging, particularly where issues of capacity are concerned. The purchase of Reliability allows Alliance to take greater control of its back-end operations, thus improving continuity of supply and better meeting customer needs. This ensures we can provide customers with a more accurate delivery forecast and are better able to respond to any ramp up in demand.
Reliability is a respected supplier of burn-in, lead scan, marking and tape and reel services so the deal also demonstrates Alliance’s commitment to the legacy SRAM market.
