Digi-Key stocks new connectors from Tyco Electronics, Weidmuller

Thief River Falls, Minn. — Digi-Key is now stocking Weidmuller’s DRAC line of AC Din rail receptacles and Tyco Electronics’ CFP compliant Ethernet connectors and components.

The DRAC receptacles can be installed onto 35-mm DIN rails or directly panel mounted. They accept solid or stranded wiring from 20 AWG to 10 AWG. The DRAC line is also UL approved for use in any UL panel or control system. The line offers both UL508A and cULus approvals along with NEMA ratings.

The new receptacles, measuring 2.9-inches wide and 4.6-inches wide, are fully enclosed and touch safe. They include 15-A or 20-A power outlets, which provide a simple and convenient power source inside a panel or closure for applications such as laptops, test equipment, lighting, and solder irons.

The following DRAC products are available for purchase at Digi-Key’s global Web sites:

  • 6720005420 (Digi-Key #281-2579-ND) Module Outlet AC Dual 20A 120VAC
  • 6720005421 (Digi-Key #281-2580-ND) Module Outlet AC Dual 15A 120VAC
  • 6720005422 (Digi-Key #281-2581-ND) Module Outlet AC GFI 15A 120VAC
  • 6720005423 (Digi-Key #281-2582-ND) Module Outlet AC GFI 20A 120VAC

The CFP compliant connector is an ultra-high-speed pluggable I/O interface supporting 40 Gbits/s and 100 Gbits/s Ethernet applications. The integrated system provides the mechanical, EMI, and thermal performance necessary to meet the requirements of the CFP Multi Source Agreement (MSA) optical transceivers and OEM host line cards. Insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk meet or exceed the performance of existing industry 10 Gbits/s solutions. These products can also be purchased at Digi-Key’s global Web sites.

Applications include switches and routers for telecom and data center applications and optical transport equipment for long haul, metro, and multi-service provisioning platforms.
