Valens to showcase HDBaseT-compliant chipset at CES 2010

Hod-Hasharon, Israel — Valens Semiconductor has announced the availability of the industry’s first HDBaseT-compliant chipset and development kits. The company says the VS100 chipsets enable the convergence of uncompressed full HD digital video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power and control through a single, standard 100 m/328 ft. LAN cable.

Valens, together with LG Electronics, Samsung and Sony Pictures, recently announced the launch of the HDBaseT Alliance that will promote and standardize the HDBaseT technology.

The Valens VS100 family consists of two chips: the VS100TX transmitter for DVDs, STBs and other HD source equipment, and the VS100RX receiver for HDTVs, projectors and other display equipment.
