Catalog distributors Digi-Key Corp. (Thief River Falls, Minn.), Mouser Electronics (Mansfield, Tex.) and Newark (Chicago, Ill.) are stocking Cirrus Logic’s new CS1500 and CS1600 digital power factor correction (PFC) ICs.
The CS1500 is designed for power supply uses while the CS1600 targets electronic lighting ballast systems.
Mike Scott, Mouser vice president for active products, believes the Cirrus Logic CS1500 and CS1600 devices will eventually replace many analog PFCs as regulatory efficiency requirements become stricter.
The CS1500 and CS1600 are now available for purchase on Digi-Key’s global websites.
Both devices are also available from Newark at www.newark.com/cirrus-logic. In addition, whitepapers, videos, datasheets and applications notes for the new products are posted on the Cirrus Logic page on element14, Premier Farnell’s engineering resource and collaborative community.
