Arrow creates new reverse supply-chain business

Peabody, Mass. — Combining reverse logistics, IT asset disposition and electronic component distribution services, Arrow Electronics Inc. has launched a full-service reverse supply-chain business. The new business is comprised of ReSolve, a global reverse logistics services brand; Intechra, an IT asset disposition services company, and Converge, an independent electronic components distributor.

The launch of ReSolve follows Arrow’s acquisitions of Converge and Intechra in 2010. ReSolve’s solutions, backed by reverse supply-chain technology solutions from Converge, enable OEMs and contract manufacturers to proactively manage the reverse supply chain, streamline service spares logistics, and minimize operational overhead and inefficiencies, said Arrow.

ReSolve also adds value to its customers’ bottom line with inventory optimization and returns management programs as well as testing, validation and re-introduction of after-market technology products.

Intechra brings to the table services that help enterprises, OEMs and government organizations eliminate the risks surrounding data security, compliance and environmental impact, while maximizing recovery value on the retirement of IT assets around the world. The services provider has a network of standardized and secure processing facilities.

With 30 years of experience as an independent distributor, Converge has a global electronic components distribution network that help companies meet their component purchasing needs by capitalizing on market opportunities to bridge supply gaps, reduce costs, manage inventory and speed time to market, said Arrow.

Arrow’s suite of reverse supply-chain services include:

— Service Spares Management: Inventory optimization and risk management of service spares, using lean planning principles to deliver bottom-line serviceability and overall inventory reduction.
— Product Returns Management: Value recovery through comprehensive asset reallocation and the redeployment of materials back into the service supply chain.
