Allen, Tex. Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) has approved Interstate Connecting Components (ICC) as a value-added distributor for AFSI’s MIL-PRF-28876 connector series. With the approval of both AFSI and DLA Land and Maritime, ICC can begin assembling M28876 connectors in its Moorestown, N.J., facility.
ICC has distributed M28876 multi-channel fiber-optic connectors, M29504 fiber-optic termini, and M83522 single-channel ST connectors to the defense market. As a value-added distributor, ICC will now be able to maintain ready-to-assemble, component inventory to support even the most obscure M28876 configurations, according to the companies.
Most connectors will be supplied under ICC’s T’Da! Two-Day Assembly program, providing customers with connectors on a just-in-time basis.
“We look forward to applying our value-added expertise to this Mil-Spec fiber-optic connector family,” said Scott Jacobs, ICC’s president, in a statement. “Our AS 9100-registered quality management system and our state-of-the-art logistics capabilities will insure that our customers will receive the parts they need, when they need them. We are delighted to take our partnership with AFSI to the next level,” he added.
ICC distributes electronic connectors, fiber-optic connectors, connector accessories and tools, cable marking systems and supplies, and interconnect contacts to the aerospace, Department of Defense, homeland security, shipbuilding, avionics, telecommunications, and broadcast markets.
