Buying in the best

Cable assembly specialist, Quadrant Connections, has been the subject of a management buy-in (MBI), in a move designed to help the company expand into new markets. After 27 years at the helm, company founder, Anthony Sheridan, will sell the business as a going concern, providing support to the company, once the business has transitioned to the new management team. Quadrant will also continue to focus on the production of electrical cable assemblies and the distribution of connectors, cables and speech communication products, with support for existing customers in the telecommunications, instrumentation, broadcast and defence sectors.

New chairman and MD at Quadrant, David Miller, explained: Quadrant has fantastic potential. It already has offshore manufacturing sites in Czech Republic and Romania as well as shareholdings in associated companies in China and USA. We are committed to strengthening the group as a whole and to retaining the headquarters and core manufacturing base in Radlett. Key relationships with German principals, particularly Telegrtner, will be maintained and further developed.

Managed by corporate finance specialist, Watershed, the MBI will also see Mike Wood become sales and marketing director and Robert Mulley commercial director.
