Erni hopes to streamline production processes and associated costs by offering DIN connectors with through hole reflow (THR) termination in tape-and-reel packaging for automatic assembly. This is designed to eliminate the need for hand or selective soldering, resulting in better quality and reduced production resources. No changes to PCB layout are required. Insulation housings are made of heat-resistant thermoplastic so the connectors can also be soldered in conformance with the EU RoHS directive.
The following variants are available: C, C/2, C/3, CD, R, R/2, R/3 and RD. Ernis DIN 41612/ IEC 60603-2 connectors range from two and three-row standard types up to four and five-row high-density versions as well as DIN connectors for power supply. Pricing for the DIN half size C/2 and R/2 starts at US $1.75 in volume.
