Mouser Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement with specialist SMD diode manufacturer, Comchip Technology.
Stock includes switching, Schottky, Zener and ESD diodes that are RoHS and halogen-free in flat chip packages with gold-plated terminations instead of tin-plated. These discrete semiconductors can be used for voltage/current regulation and rectification, signal conditioning and circuit protection. Using gold terminations is said to reduce susceptibility to tin whiskers, for long-term reliability.
Mouser vice president of active products, Mike Scott, said: Mouser is excited to offer Comchips flat pack SOD diodes, manufactured with simple substrate technology, not lead-frame, to cut costs and improve reliability.
