Process and quality engineers who specify and inspect printed boards are invited to attend a number of workshops designed to help them assess and maintain printed board quality. Events will take place at the ITRI Innovation laboratories in St Albans, with workshops led by Bob Willis, assisted by ITRI’s Dr Wayne Lam.
Workshops are as follows: PCB inspection and quality assessment – practical solutions on 24 March; Troubleshooting your assembly yields – on site or offshore on 25 March; Step by step electronics failure analysis on 22 April.
It can be difficult to assess the quality of incoming substrates, particularly where PCBs are sourced from overseas or through distributors. The switch to lead-free assembly has also highlighted fabrication issues, making it essential to understand the test methods available. These events aim to demonstrate the techniques available for quality verification.
