Growth needs changes

Torsten Gessner, Vice President European Operations, reveals the plans for the distributor America II, for EMEA during the coming year. As an independent distributor we are not restricted by traditional asset management constraints and risky inventory exposure. We have tremendous financial strength and flexibility that allows us to make anti-cyclic investments. We are bullish on the European market, and consequently have no issues in investing now in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and then in the other European regions for long-term growth.
Even though the market is still in a period of general uncertainty, America II is determined to listen to the requests from our customers in Europe. To be able to take advantage of our whole product and services portfolio, they need us to provide customer service, professional field sales and local management support in the local language and on their work schedules.

Gessner continues, America II has currently more than 40 people based in the UK and a smaller inside sales office near Dsseldorf. Expansion plans for this first phase include a new office in the Munich area, together with renewal of the field sales teams.

In the past we have staffed our Mainland European Operations with generalist sales people. What is different from our founding years is that this time we are only looking for experienced, top performers from the Semiconductor Industry, who can bring their skills and relationships as a key value proposition to our European customer base. For the management of our key customers, America II will only seek experienced, motivated Industry experts who can have an immediate impact, to explain the personnel restructuring. Gessner is looking forward to having the pleasure of welcoming his clients at his stand at Electronica.
