Erni Electronics has expanded its modular jack portfolio to include low profile versions with integrated magnetic filters. These compact network connectors have been designed for heavy-duty applications including powerful RJ45 applications compliant with 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Base-T (gigabit) Ethernet. An eight-core design with capacitors and resistors meets all gigabit Ethernet requirements in switches or hub products and the product has been configured to deliver voltage insulation and performance complying with FCC and IEEE 802.3 standards Featuring improved contact design for reliable network connections, Erni’s new low profile jacks are available in angled single-port versions and are equipped with integrated LEDs for status display. They are said to offer good resistance to electromagnetic faults with integrated magnetic filters featuring shielding flanges at the top and on both sides for effective grounding.
The network plugs are RoHS-compatible and meet the requirements of IEC 60603-7. They can be processed using lead-free wave soldering at temperatures up to 270C.
Erni offers a range of modular jacks in a variety of configurations however, as a result of rising data rates and minimal space requirements, demand is increasing for these compact low profile connectors with integrated filter components.
