Kemet revises UK distribution

KEMET has restructured its UK sales organisation and realigned its distribution strategy. Central to the changes is the appointment of Neal Goddard who joins KEMET as Sales Manager, UK & Ireland. Neal will head sales operations for the UK, Ireland and South Africa with a team of field sales and application engineers plus the UK customer service team based in Weymouth, Dorset reporting to him.

Goddard joins KEMET from Sanyo Semiconductor where he was European Sales Manager for distribution and key accounts. Prior to that he held various positions in Siemens Component businesses.Following the acquisition of Evox Rifa, BHC and Arcotronics, KEMET now offers one of the industrys broadest and most comprehensive ranges of the latest capacitor technologies.

To support this enhanced product range, the company has realigned its distribution strategy in the UK to ensure the right mix and balance of global, catalogue and local specialist distributors. The entire network is focused to support the engineering requirements of customers requiring ceramic, tantalum, film, electrolytic and paper capacitors, providing the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.

The complete network comprises Arrow, Avnet Abacus, TTI, RS Components, Farnell, Charcroft, Easby and Campbell Collins; additionally, Richardson Electronics specialises in Power Film and Electrolytic products only. Catalogue distributors Digi-Key and Mouser will continue to offer KEMET products from their operations based in North America.

The changes we are making will enable us to provide the best possible support to both new and existing customers across industry sectors, said Graeme Dorkings, Director Distribution Sales EMEA, KEMET. The appointment of someone with Neal Goddards experience and track record will help us to successfully implement the new structure and strengthen KEMETs position as a company at the forefront of capacitor technology.
