New structure supports global clients

A new global management structure has been established at Omron Electronic Components Business (ECB). The changes will see the appointment of regional operating officers, including Mark Jones, who has been promoted from vice president of sales and marketing to become the OCB-EU chief operating officer (COO), with responsibility for business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. Having spent 26 years at Omron, Mark Jones, will bring experience to the role including 18 years with Omron’s industrial automation business (IAB) and previous experience as general manager for France, European components and distribution manager and sales manager Africa.

As OCB-EU COO, Mark will report to newly appointed chief executive officer for global business development Masashi Nakano and ECB president Soichi Yukawa.

Commenting, Soichi Yukawa said: As our business and customers become more global, it is important we have an infrastructure which allows us to serve a customer at any location in the world. The new structure satisfies this trend, allowing us to focus on customer satisfaction and deliver best practice across all business zones.

As part of the restructuring process, former European COO, Nigel Blakeway, will focus exclusively on North and South America as COO Americas.
