High reliability component specialist, IGG Component Technology, has been awarded tier one supplier approval by Rolls-Royce. The new status will allow the company to deal with the entire Rolls-Royce group of companies including marine power and aero engines, as well as all subcontractors in the supply chain.
As a result, purchasers at Rolls-Royce will be able to tap into IGG services including: component sourcing, long-term component storage, last-time-buy flagging and consultancy, as well as obsolescence management and mitigation.
Specialist electronics design engineer at Rolls-Royce, Robert Gregory, commented: Electronic components for high reliability markets are increasingly difficult to source with ever decreasing supply spans. Rolls-Royce needs partners confident that they can maintain supply of our products well into the future. The new status for IGG means we can get the parts we need from IGG or through their services like up-screening COTS parts and storing them in a safe environment.
