Reorganisation cuts costs

Kemet’s Film and Electrolytic Business Group has been restructured into two business units: the standard film and paper products business unit and the power and specialty products business unit. Consolidating manufacturing in this way is expected to reduce operating costs. The Standard Film and Paper Products Business Unit will be managed by Andreas Floegel, Senior Director, Standard Film & Paper Business Unit, and the Power and Specialty Products Business Unit will be managed by Dr. Werner Lohwasser, Vice President, Power and Specialty Products Business Unit. Both Floegel and Lohwasser will report directly to Kirk Shockley, KEMETs Vice President, Film and Electrolytic Business Group.

All products from the new business units are supported by KEMETs online CapacitorEdge facility that helps simplify and speed the selection of the most appropriate parts for customer applications. KEMETs wide product range provides solutions to applications in many industry sectors including computing, consumer electronics, military and aerospace, transportation and alternative energy.
This reorganisation is an important step in positioning this business group to be a competitive part of our organisation, stated Per Loof, KEMETs Chief Executive Officer. There is great potential for growth in the markets we serve with the products we manufacture in this part of our business. The changes we are making will allow us to better serve our customers and compete more effectively in the marketplace, continued Loof.
