Responding to market demand for quality products, quick delivery and low cost, Amphenol has introduced its Barracuda connector series. The products are sealed to IP68 and RoHS compliant. The range offers three connector styles: inline plug; inline receptacle; and panel mount. Each offers four contact arrangement options to suit applications ranging from submerged marine environments to exposed factory towers.
A three-way insert contains the earth contact and carries 10V. Four, six and seven-way inserts are available, all designed for one body shell size. This offers buyers the opportunity to increase the contact count without having to purchase bigger connectors: one size fits all.
There is no need for special tooling as the contacts can be terminated with a small flat screwdriver. Once attached to the cable, Barracuda connectors are tightened by hand.
