Tyco Electronics announces their MINIPAK HDL power distribution connector family has been licensed with FCI.
The MINIPAK HDL connector product provides very high power and signal density in a low profile co-planar package that sits less than 9 mm above the PCB surface. This product offers a current density of 150 amps per linear inch along with 2 mm pitch signal contacts, which provides reductions in both overall length and height compared to alternative designs.
The licensing of the MINIPAK HDL technology to FCI provides customers with the confidence that comes with having a leading edge product with a pre-certified second source, comments Mike Blanchfield, global family leader for power connectors at Tyco Electronics. Products from Tyco Electronics and FCI will be jointly qualified to confirm the performance is maintained between brands.
