C&K Components, supplier of tact switches, toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has announced the availability of the RS Series of reed detect switches with an electrical life to 1 million cycles. The 5mm magnetic reed switch features a footprint of 6.5 x 2.3mm, and sits only 2.3mm off the PC board. With the possibility of top or side actuating, the detect switch can be used for a variety of applications, including industrial sensing, factory automation equipment, limit sensing, security systems, and fan and motor controllers, as well as simple detection applications such as enclosure latches. The RoHS-compliant detect switches are available with either gullwing or J-lead terminations, and can be supplied on pick-and-place compatible tape and reel packaging.
