Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has acquired a special capacitor product (wet tantalum) from Kemet Corporation for an amount of 35.2 million U.S. dollars. In the fiscal year completed at 31 March 2008 Kemet achieved with these products a turnover of around 16 million U.S. dollars, of which about 7 million were mainly within the US, from former Arcotronics products (this company was acquired by Kemet last year).
The worldwide turnover during the quarter completed at 30 June 2008 was at 4.4million U.S. dollars. With this acquisition, Vishay expands its product portfolio of speciality capacitors used in military, space and medical applications.
