Industry Association Launches First Chapter
Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) members and prospective members met in Dallas recently to launch the first chapter of the organization. ECIA is a national trade association for manufacturers of electronic components and their authorized distributors and designated representatives. The Texas Chapter meeting was the first of many to come as the association focuses on bringing its benefits to the local level. Robert Logan of Kruvand Associates will serve as the chapter’s president.
“The feedback from several individuals that attended the inaugural ECIA Chapter meeting in Dallas state that it was well worth their time to attend. There seems to be a lot of excitement and interest in this Chapter and what the ECIA can offer. ECIA brings the industry together in a way that no other association has managed to in the past. This opportunity to work together to achieve mutual goals and improve the business climate for the authorized sale of electronics is unique. Future chapter meetings will keep an eye on the industry from the street level as well as provide a national and global perspective,” said Logan.
The capacity crowd enjoyed a presentation by Michael Knight, Senior VP, Americas of TTI, Inc. Knight provided keen insight with an industry update and economic overview.
The Texas Chapter will meet quarterly to network, address local industry issues and review association progress on a variety of initiatives. For more information on the benefits of membership, visit ECIA’s website.
