Suyin’s new 254089HB surface-mount six-pin connectors feature a side-entry design for subscriber identity module (SIM) cards to enable mating on the long side of the card. They are targeted at applications facing tight space constraints inside miniature portable electronic devices or in stationary systems featuring a special shape.
With a length of 32.4mm, a width of 16.4mm and a profile of 2.35mm, the compact design was achieved using insert moulding production technology. An integrated switch is said to ensure reliable card detection and four side-mounted SMT solder tabs provide additional anchoring on the PCB. The service life of this enclosed card connector is specified at 5,000 mating cycles. Operating temperature range is –40 to 105°C and the connector is configured for voltages of 50V DC at a maximum of 1.0A per pin.
