FCI is expanding its modular jack product line with multi-port and single-port RJ45 connectors. Applications include broadband switches, hubs, routers, servers and telecommunication systems. To ensure reliability, FCI compared its selectively plated RJ45 against traditional versions with full gold plating and found no deterioration of the connector’s durability or performance, providing a clear competitive advantage.
Modular jacks product manager at FCI, Megan Teng, said: “Our entire RJ45 family is low-profile with durability rated at 1,000 cycles for the multi-port version and 750 cycles for the single-port version. This combined with attractive prices offers tangible benefits.”
FCI’s RJ45 connectors are available in a variety of single-port and stacked multi-port options that support category three wiring for the transmission of 16Mbps signal in networking and telecommunication equipment.
Designed to GS-12-0990 and GS-12-0947 standards and UL94V-0 specifications, the modular jacks employ a shielded shell for EMI protection. Operating temperatures span -40 to 85ºC.
