Half-brick targets rail apps

Designed for use in railway systems and other harsh environments, Wall Industries‘ new DCHBW150 series DC/DC power converters deliver up to 182W of output power in an industry standard half-brick package.

The series consists of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, 28 and 48V DC single output models that operate over 4:1 input voltage ranges of nine to 36V DC, 16.5 to 75V DC and 43 to 160V DC. Standard features include efficiency up to 91 per cent, soft start, adjustable output voltage, remote sense, 2,250V DC I/O isolation and positive remote ON/OFF control.

Converters in the range have no minimum load requirements and operate over a case temperature range of -40 to 115°C. They also boast a MTBF of 1,010,000 hours using Bellcore TR-NWT-000332 and 74,160 hours using MIL-HDBK-217F. Units are protected against short circuit, over voltage, over current and over temperature conditions.

In addition to railway systems this series is ideal for use in wireless networks, industry control systems, distributed power architectures and telecom/datacom applications. The series is priced at $89.95 in OEM quantities.
