Solid State Supplies has introduced what it describes as Europe’s first multi-channel 868MHz wireless module with listen before talk (LBT) and adaptive frequency agility (AFA) technology. This allows the Digi XBee 868LP to automatically change to the best channel if interference is detected.
The module is based on Analog Device’s ADF7023 transceiver, which boasts maximum interference blocking, sensitivity performance and low current consumption to ensure a strong connection and reliable data transfer in energy management, sensor deployment and other wireless networking applications.
Featuring 30 channels for additional interference immunity, the XBee 868LP operates in the 863 to 870MHz range and draws less than 2µA in sleep mode. The module offers up to four kilometres RF line-of-sight range and is said to be easy and quick to configure with Digi’s free utility, X-CTU. The module also supports over the air (OTA) firmware updates, minimising deployment risks.
