Premier Farnell plc , one of the world’s leading high service distributors and global solutions provider to design engineers, has been announced as the Company of the Year at the 2012 Women in Logistics Awards.
The announcement follows a public vote, where Premier Farnell was up against CEVA Logistics and Pepsico, and was presented at the WiL Ball at Chesford Grange Hotel in the West Midlands.
In winning Premier Farnell was highlighted as truly integrating diversity into the organisation, and not just having policies, processes and goals in place.
Catherine Kirkland, who heads the Diversity and Inclusion programme across Europe, said: “We have strived to make diversity a key thread within our organisation for a number of years and have made a particular effort to develop the careers of women in our logistics centres. At Premier Farnell we have people across the world who are taking the lead on diversity and I am delighted we have won this award. What makes this even more special is that it was a public vote which decided the winner.”
