Euroquartz to show high stability oscillators and latest miniature crystals at Electronica

Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz is promoting its XOR range of high stability clock oscillators and its latest miniature SMD crystal in the smallest package yet at the forthcoming Electronica 2012 exhibition, 13th to 16th November, Munich, Germany.

The new XOR series offers customers a miniature SMD clock oscillator with stabilities from ±7ppm over -10 to +70°C. Supply voltage choice is 3.3, 2.5 or 1.8V and there are three SMD package sizes: 7x5mm, 5×3.2mm and 3.2×2.5mm. In addition, XOR series oscillators have excellent phase noise performance of -145dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset and exhibit low jitter (300fs typical). Frequency range extends from 1 to 56MHz.

By using the XOR series, design engineers can make significant cost savings as this component is a clock oscillator and not an expensive temperature compensated oscillator.

Also new at Electronica will be Euroquartz’s latest miniature SMD crystal, the X21 series. Housed in the smallest package size of 2.05 x 1.65mm with height of just 0.6mm, this device provides an ideal solution in restricted space applications requiring very low mass.

The new X21 crystal is hermetically sealed in a metal can over a ceramic base. High resistance to shock and vibration and an extremely low ageing characteristic (<±3ppm/year at 25°C) make this crystal ideal for miniaturised handheld equipment such as PDAs and GPS and similar high density applications.

Frequency stability down to ±5ppm is possible with the X21 crystals and other specifications include frequency range from 20 to 54MHz fundamental mode, shunt capacitance of 2 to 4pF typical and drive level of 10?W typical, 100?W maximum.

Euroquartz is also showing examples of many of the company’s wide range of frequency management products including quartz crystals, oscillators, resonators, filters, VCXOs, TCXOs and OCXOs. The company’s products are used in a wide range of industry sectors including defence, aerospace, medical, telecommunications and electrical/electronic engineering.

Euroquartz is exhibiting on stand 528 in hall B5.
