Mouser employees remember those less fortunate

mouserThe employees of Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, believe that giving is much more than simply a holiday seasonal endeavor.  For Mouser and its 1,000 employees, giving is a year-round, almost daily event as they share their money, their time and their expertise with charities, schools, community service projects and other civic improvement programs.

During the holiday season alone, many employees gave the gift of life by donating units of blood.
Others participated in drives that produced over 30 cartons of food and 20 large boxes of toys for families in our community who are experiencing hard times. Mouser employees collected and shipped 35 care packages to our military personal overseas and another 15 crates of gifts and necessary items to nursing homes in our community.

Over the past year Mouser’s employees have given to the community through numerous charity sponsorships, including donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and other non-profit organizations. At the MansfieldActivitiesCenter, Mouser will be underwriting the cost of Wi-Fi for the 2013 year.  But it is in education, particularly in math and science, where Mouser’s commitment is unsurpassed.

In addition to speaking to classes and serving on school advisory boards in Mansfield, Mouser staff members this past year offered their expertise to the area high school robotics team and helped students build a solar car. The company also sponsored a NASA uplink for local students to speak directly to astronauts aboard the International Space Station, helping to bring science curriculum to life.

Mouser’s contributions were formally recognized with a proclamation last month by the City of Mansfield, Texas, for its economic and civic contributions to the city and for Mouser being named the 2012 Employer of Excellence for TarrantCounty. The city proclamation specifically cited Mouser as “one of our most philanthropic corporate citizens, working with the Mansfield ISD to assist students in learning robotics, building homes for Habitat for Humanity and donating to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.”
