RF agreement supports early adopters

Nordic Semiconductor and Distrelec will work together to provide rapid access to Nordic's ultra low power wireless solutionsUltra low power (ULP) RF specialist, Nordic Semiconductor, has added low volume, rapid delivery Swiss catalogue distributor, Distrelec, to its European distribution network.

Parts will be stocked across Distrelec’s three main European warehouse hubs in Switzerland, Sweden and Germany, for shipment overnight to pre-production design and prototyping customers in 29 countries. The distributor also has 40 full-time technical support engineers in Europe, with two specialising exclusively in wireless technology.

Head of distribution and project management at Distrelec, Jürg Hübscher said: “Wireless is a rapidly expanding business for us. In particular the ultra low power segment is booming with the advent of Bluetooth low energy, because of the way it has opened up access to the smartphone and app markets.”

Nordic Semiconductor’s director of sales and marketing, Geir Langeland, added: “Europe remains a vibrant hub for early pre-volume design and prototyping work. This type of customer needs access to Nordic’s solutions in small volumes at high speed and will appreciate access to technical support if they need it.”
