Investing in a sustainable future

VISIT ELECTRONICS DIRECT AT STAND 34 — Electronic Component Show 2024

Approaching its 25th anniversary, Electronics Direct is placing sustainable practices and social responsibility at its core. Visit stand 34 to learn more about the initiative.

In the current era, where discussions around climate change and the necessity for sustainable practices are gaining momentum, Electronics Direct has embraced the mantle of both environmental and social responsibility.

Electronics Direct’s sales manager, Phil Wiggins, explained: “Sustainability influences every decision. Our industry requires a robust energy supply to test and distribute products, the company’s initiative to adopt solar panels for electricity generation displays a commitment towards a sustainable future. These provide almost 100 per cent of our power needs at our UK branch.

“Electronics Direct’s commitment does not stop there. We ensure every decision reflects the same steadfastness towards a green future. Biodegradable packing materials, recycling waste, electric car chargers for employees and more.”

Through regular environmental audits, Electronics Direct continually assesses its carbon emissions, waste production and energy use. These assessments guide the company’s decisions, ensuring sustainability is not just a one-time initiative, but the overarching mantra in their everyday operations.

From the social perspective, Electronics Direct collaborates with St Leonards Hospice for charitable activities, supports its rural village community and sponsors a youth basketball team, other sports teams and local athletes which aligns with its Corporate Social Responsibilities and commitment to its community. A prime example being a young cycling phenomenon who now has the necessary equipment to compete with his peers.
