Schurter has introduced a combined fuse cover and extractor for its OGN fuse holders.
The traditional OGN plugging aid is useful for placing 5×20 fuses into all types of OGN fuse holder, making the placing and replacing of fuses much easier, especially on densely packed PCBs. However, the plugging aid often remains in place with the fuse, meaning it also remains in the appliance during operation. This is not permitted for safety reasons. With a rated power consumption of 2.5W/10 A, the plugging aid is in danger of overheating.
Schurter has solved this problem with the new OGN Adapter. At 4W/16A, it is significantly more heat-resistant and has been glow-wire tested. It can therefore remain in the device during operation with VDE approval and serve as a cover. Schurter’s OGN fuse holders are available in THT, SMT and THR technology.
