Micromirrors now in stock

Mouser Electronics is now stocking Texas Instruments’ DLP4620S-Q1 0.46 in automotive digital micromirror device (DMD). Combined with a DMD controller and system management and illumination controller, the device is designed to deliver a high-performance, high-resolution augmented reality head-up display. It supports wide field-of-view AR HUDs, digital instrument clusters and navigation/infotainment windshield displays.

The device is designed to balance resolution and optical throughput, improving the driver experience with a wide field of view and large eye box. Featuring a 2:1 aspect ratio, it supports various display requirements for DMD-based automotive applications. The chipset, coupled with lasers or LEDs and an optical system, achieves: 125 per cent NTSC color coverage; a 5000:1 dynamic dimming ratio; 15,000+ cd/m² brightness; and a high solar tolerance load. The 0.9MP resolution enables retinal-limited displays in HUD applications.

The device uses bottom illumination, allowing for compact and efficient optical engine design in right-hand and left-hand drive vehicles.
