With TDK Micronas’ HAL 302x, Rutronik offers a family of fast 2D angular position sensors that meet the demand for stray-field-robust motor position sensing and ISO 26262-compliant development.
This sensor family has differential or single-ended sine and cosine analog outputs for standardized angle calculations by an external microcontroller or ECU. Both types use Hall effect technology to measure vertical magnetic field components (BZ) over a 360 deg angle of rotation.
The Hal3020 features an arrangement of three horizontal plates and is designed for lower power consumption applications. In comparison, the HAL3021 features six horizontal plates, offering enhanced robustness against static and dynamic mechanical tolerances, a higher signal-to-noise ratio and supports narrower air gaps and smaller target magnets.
Thanks to fast response time and high output bandwidth, they suit motor applications up to 60,000 rpm, often found in light e-mobility, industrial robotics, plus agricultural and heavy machinery.
