One connector, many features

Phoenix Contact introduces its compact SPC 4 connector series designed to deliver high power density, flexible locking, safety features and automated assembly support.

Phoenix Contact’s SPC 4 connector series is compact yet capable of performing to high power and function densities. A wire space of 4 mm², pitch of 6.35 mm and height of 16.6 mm, helps save space while offering the capacity to operate up to 24 A and 1000 V. The series is engineered to provide an unrivalled solution for manufacturers looking for optimal performance on the smallest footprint.

Optional features include an innovative shield contact design which helps save space on the device front with its integrated shield connection direct to the printed circuit board.

The SPC 4 series is also multi-variant with two separate types of locking mechanism. The first is top lock and the second is middle flange. This allows manufacturers greater freedom to choose the best solution for their design. Both types ensure a safe, reliable connection whilst still allowing high packing density.

With enhanced touch protection on the SPC 4 connector and the PC 4 header, this all-round solution offers extra safety.

SPC 4 series connectors are also efficient due to the PC 4 series headers being suitable for the THR soldering process which enables automated assembly. The headers can be supplied in box and taped/reeled packaging offering customers greater manufacturing choice which helps speed production and reduce costs.

The headers come in three different mounting orientation options for increased design flexibility: 90 deg vertical, zero deg horizontal and 180 deg horizontal.

Phoenix Contact is committed to creating new and innovative products so its customers can design, create and manufacture their latest products to the highest standards. The company works with its approved distribution network to make sure its customers have the right supply route, service level and product availability.
