Mouser Electronics, Inc. has signed an exclusive global agreement with Elmos Semiconductors and Silicon Microstructures, Inc. (SMI) to distribute mixed-signal IC’s, MEMS pressure sensors and HALIOS optical sensors and integrated microsystems.
Elmos Semiconductor is a leading supplier of semiconductors with long-term experience in high-voltage mixed-signal ICs, MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems), pressure sensor ICs, and other optical, capacitive and inductive sensor technologies. Additional products offered include mixed-signal ASICs and a line of optical-based sensor controllers known as HALIOS® (High Ambient Light Independent Optical System) for 3-D proximity sensing applications. In addition to sensor products, Mouser’s product offering from Elmos includes interface, motor control, and power management devices for automotive and industrial applications.
SMI, acquired by Elmos Semiconductor in 2001, develops and manufactures low-pressure and harsh-environment sensors based on MEMS technology. The SMI line of innovative products includes a range of standard, low-pressure sensors which operate down to 4 mBar or 0.05 PSI. SMI’s semiconductor-based pressure sensors are well-suited for a range of applications including automotive, industrial, and medical products. Typical sensor medical applications include respirators, ventilators, wound management, and blood and pressure monitors.
“We are pleased to expand our mixed-signal and sensor semiconductor selection with Elmos and SMI,” says Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Semiconductors. “Together they manufacture high-quality and high-performance semiconductor and MEMS solutions that are in high demand from our extensive automotive, industrial, medical and consumer customer base.”
“We are excited to partner globally with Mouser Electronics,” states Dr. Peter Geiselhart, member of the Elmos Management Board, responsible for Sales and Development. “We offer the engineering community high-quality application specific ICs, standard sensors, custom solutions, and unique new products based on our commitment to the design, testing, and production of semiconductor and pressure sensing devices.”
