Arrow Electronics, Inc., and Samsung Semiconductor Europe GmbH have extended their existing agreement to include Samsung’s full range of LED components. The move, which covers Europe, Middle East and Africa, further strengthens Arrow’s solid-state lighting solutions portfolio.
Samsung’s LED components provide a wide range of benefits to manufacturers of lighting fixtures including: superior performance levels; compliance with American NSI standards (LM80); MacAdam colour bin and high luminous efficacy; improved reliability under harsh conditions; and longer life span. They are designed for reliability, with superior thermal characteristics for reduced risk of potential colour inconsistencies and lumen damage in high-temperature conditions.
Arrow’s lighting team provides specialist design-in support and end-to-end solutions to manufacturers in applications ranging from commercial interior/exterior lighting to automotive. The company’s pivotal position in the electronic component market and longstanding relationships with key suppliers, designers and manufacturers makes it well-suited to advise both new entrants and experienced lighting providers seeking guidance in the latest technological developments. The Arrow product portfolio includes all of the elements necessary in the creation of an effective SSL solution: LED light sources, optics, thermal management, connectivity, power supplies and power management electronics, and software for simple design and component selection.
“Samsung has been a long-term supplier of Arrow and we are pleased to be able to extend our cooperation to the LED field, an area where both companies have specialist expertise,” said Eric Williams, vice president of global lighting for Arrow. “This agreement further strengthens Arrow’s lighting offering and our commitment to providing customers with access to best-of-breed lighting solutions.”
