Mouser Electronics, Inc. has announced that it has the exclusive rights to ship Würth Elektronik eiSos’ new MagI³C power modules for Point-of-Load DC/DC-Converter, FPGAs, DSPs, MCUs & MPUs and I/O interfaces. MagI³C (Magnetic Integrated, Intelligent IC) step-down converters require few additional external components as the necessary coil and capacitors are already integrated into the module. Therefore the complexity of the circuit design is reduced and development time shortened. Bill of Materials (BOM), storage and production costs are also minimized.
Five MagI³C power modules offering variable output voltages are currently in stock at Mouser Electronics. To order, visit the microsite link below. The family provides auto-reset for overvoltage and over-current as well as thermal shutdown. The MagI³C-VDRM variable output voltage modules have an input voltage range of 6V to 42V and an output voltage range of 0.8 to 24V. The modules feature adjustable switching frequencies between 200 kHz to 800 kHz and a programmable soft-start provide additional flexibility. Output currents of up to 5A are possible.
Applications Notes and Evaluation Boards are available enabling the user to make a fast and simple module functionality test and integrate the circuit into the layout. Examples are provided in the datasheets so engineers can ensure their design complies with EN55002 Class B EMI standards.
