Standex Electronics is a worldwide market leader in the design, development, and manufacture of standard and custom electro-magnetic components, including Magnetics products and Reed Switch-based solutions. Their magnetic offerings include planar, Rogowski, current, and low- and high-frequency transformers and inductors. In addition, Reed switch-based solutions include MEDER, KENT, and KOFU brand Reed Switches, as well as a complete portfolio of Reed Relays, and a comprehensive array of fluid level, proximity, motion, water flow, HVAC condensate, hydraulic pressure differential, capacitive, conductive and inductive sensors.
SMD Reed Sensors are ideally suited for surface mounting with in different soldering processes. 9 different switch models with a glass length from 7mm and up, as well as 5 different surface mount lead designs are available as SMD Reed Sensors. They are available in tape and reel and suitable to automatic pick and place assembly for PCB boards.
SMD Reed Sensors are used as processed raw switches or over-molded versions, especially in applications with limited space. The overmolded version is particularly protected and robust, and is suitable for applications in harsh environments. Ideal for applications such as on/off control switches, proximity, motion, and position detection and markets that include: industrial, automotive, security, telecommunication, white goods, appliance, medical and portable medical device. Optional SMD reed sensors are available in UL approval.
