Don’t miss chance discoveries

With preparations for the Electronic Component Show complete and the event’s 25 May 2023 date racing closer, now is a good time to explore the benefits of taking time out of your schedule to visit suppliers face-to-face.

Personally, I’ve lost count of the number of exhibitions I’ve attended over the last 35-years. The number one reason I keep going is serendipity. No matter how much I think I know about a technology or supplier, I always learn something new that is valuable to me.

One of the obvious reasons for these chance discoveries is the rate of technology change in the electronics industry. If technology change itself isn’t difficult enough to track, add recent turmoil in the supply chain itself and the task of remaining knowledgeable is further compounded.

Magazines and supplier websites do their best to highlight the headline news but some change, by its nature, slips under the radar. This is where face-to-face conversations ride to the rescue. A ten minute chat with a product specialist, components to hand, can reveal a wealth of information regarding specifications, pricing, availability, lead times, obsolescence, customisation and much more.

So, with 69 exhibitors booked to attend, the Electronic Component Show offers visitors the opportunity to have some of the most valuable meetings and conversations of the year. Whether you are looking for parts, distribution partners or service providers, ECS will definitely have the answers.

I hope to see you there.
