High EMI immunity and voltage isolation

Firecomms has announced its RedLink plastic optical fiber transceivers featuring high EMI immunity and robust RF signal isolation for industrial power electronics applications. The transmitters feature a resonant cavity light emitting diode with an integrated driver IC to send 650nm red wavelength light over plug-terminated plastic optical fiber to a RedLink receiver with integrated pulse width distortion modulation circuitry and push-pull TTL CMOS output to provide reliable data transmission rates from DC to 50MBd for up to 50m. They support industry communications standards RS232, RS485, CAN-Bus, ModBus and PROFIBUS.

Firecomms Americas’ head of sales, Bill Morrow, said: “The Firecomms RedLink Series devices are ideal for networking of industrial high voltage power electronics systems that require high speed digital signals with robust EMI immunity and superior RF signal isolation. In addition, the plastic optical fiber connection provides greater flexibility, durability and bend radius for robotic and machine applications that require movement.”
