Molex offers a range of Type-C I/O connectors, whose housing material is made of high- temperature plastic and which rely on a three-stage insert molding process. This ensures a high degree of pluggability.
The plug-in tongue’s design protects against damage caused by improper use, transportation or assembly processes. The extended family of compact USB Type-C connectors supports: fast charging with voltages of up to 48V/5.0A; a data throughput of 10Gbit/s; and offers waterproof, robust and reliable connectivity for consumer, industrial and IoT devices, plus other high-speed I/O applications.
The connectors are available with 16 or 24 pins. They suit voltages of 48V and currents of 3.0, 5.0 and 6.0A, are TID-certified and suitable for use at an operating temperature of -30 or -40 to 85°C.
One option is waterproof connector sockets with an IP classification of X5, X7 or X8, depending on model. They have a liquid silicone rubber seal ring which enables easy installation, offers excellent temperature/weather resistance and is firmly attached to the connector.
