As Sunon breaks ground on expanding its Philippines manufacturing facilities, Gelec has confirmed the Philippines facility is its primary source of AC, EC and DC fans and blowers. The company has established shipping routes from Manilla that help minimise disruption— something partially caused by the congestion in ports such as YanTian and Hong Kong.
Product manager, George Bunn, said: “Having manufacturing sites in multiple locations will deliver stability to a market impacted by the events of recent years. Having the capability to mirror production means that we have the agility to switch location and react quickly to unforeseen challenges that may lie ahead.”
Sunon has already increased production in Bataan, now producing up to 3M pieces per month. The new site will
help increase output to keep up with continued demand for Sunon products. Additional benefits such as disaster response/recovery and access to multiple air/seaports, local to each production facility mean Sunon is in a strong position to mitigate future challenges.
