Thoughts and expectations for 2025

Rebound Electronics’ MD, Raj Keshvara

Rebound Electronics’ MD, Raj Keshvara, introduces readers to the new Rebound Obsolescence Management service, designed to help buyers navigate supply chain issues.

Moving into 2025, the electronic components market is poised for a notable shift. The oversupply seen over the last year, built up across franchise distribution and manufacturer supply channels, is expected to ease as CEMs and OEMs work through inventories. This ease should bring about a more balanced market, helping stabilise prices and reduce lead times for key components.

We are also observing increased transparency from manufacturers regarding product lifecycles. Many are signalling the end of older technologies through price adjustments and extended lead times which, while providing valuable insights, also raise challenges around material availability.

We have launched our new Rebound Obsolescence Management (ROM) service to help customers navigate these issues. ROM has been created to help businessescombat obsolescence through a five-step proactive and reactive approach to address potential supply risks, particularly in the context of evolving product lines and legacy component phase-outs.

Obsolescence will become an even greater issue throughout 2025 and beyond. As part of this, we will be hosting our first Rebound Obsolescence Management Seminar, ROM 2025, in April 2025. More details will follow, but we will be bringing together some of the leading experts in obsolescence and sustainability to provide a day of insights and learning.

Our commitment to providing all-in-one supply chain solutions continues through new partnerships with key industry players to enhance our distribution services, allowing us to offer more excellent choices and flexibility. This includes solutions for approved vendor list (AVL) management and expanded options around manufacturer selection, helping our customers maintain supply chain resilience and adaptability.

Our new initiative, Nuvonix, is set to support customers in making more informed choices across all product categories via high- quality alternative brands.
