IPC’s October 2024 findings from its North American Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) Statistical Program show a book-to- bill ratio at 1.25. Total North American EMS shipments in October 2024 were up 14.7 per cent compared to the same month last year. Compared to the preceding month, October shipments were up 3.4 per cent. EMS bookings in October increased 6.6 per cent year-over-year and decreased 4.5 per cent from the previous month.
IPC’s chief economist, Shawn DuBravac PhD, said: “The October book-to-bill ratio for the North American EMS industry slightly trailed the long-term trend. Although orders have declined for two consecutive months, the year-to-date performance remains solid. Shipments, which had been subdued earlier this year, have now increased for four consecutive months, suggesting improving momentum.”
