Hirose has expanded its SignalBee connector platform to include a smaller wire-to-board version. With a height of 1.45 mm and depth of 3.55 mm, the new DF53 Series connector is said to be industry’s smallest 0.6 mm crimp connector.
Supporting up to 1.3 A max when using two positions for power, the Series is commonly used to bring power to wearable battery connections.
Hirose Electric Americas’ assistant VP of product management, Pete Lais, said: “The DF53 Series continues the SignalBee connector legacy of combining compact size and high signal performance with high contact reliability and durability. The low-profile DF53 Series connector enables OEMs to reduce the size of end devices.”
With a unique lance design, the reliable DF53 Series combines a miniature footprint with high lance strength to prevent cable disconnect during wiring. A double lock design, friction and contact, ensures high retention force. The connector utilizes a box-shaped contact design that ensures contact stability from above and below.
