Based on market demand, Rochester Electronics and Infineon Technologies are expanding on our previous commitment to Cypress HOTLink® and HOTLink II™ products and adding support for a highly utilized USB microcontroller.
Originally discontinued in 2023, many customers with long-lifecycle applications faced challenges managing their HOTLink requirements, and demand for HOTLink II Gigabit Ethernet support remains active. In late 2024, Rochester and Infineon offered additional inventory on five select devices. This inventory was well received in the market, prompting inquiries on other part number options and requests for further support.
To meet this market need, Rochester and Infineon will extend support for 11 part-number options covering commercial and industrial temperatures and multiple package options, providing expanded product support.
This extended program also includes the CY7C68053-56BAXI, MoBL-USB™ microcontroller. This microcontroller integrates an 8051 CPU core that supports USB 2.0 with high-speed and low-speed signal rates. Its flexibility and support have made it a popular solution for numerous peripheral applications.
