IATF16949 certification for automotive charging relays

FCL Components America has announced IATF16949 certification for the Japanese factory manufacturing its FTR-K1-AM automotive charger relays. Many automotive makers around the world have adopted IATF16949 as a procurement standard.

The FTR-K1-AM series is a power relay with 20 A, 277 VAC carrying current, meeting requirements for the normal charging AC line of an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle on-board charger. The company states the relay excels in vibration and shock resistance, plus long operation lifetime.

IATF16949 is a quality management system designed to improve the quality of automotive parts by preventing non-conformance and reducing quality variation and waste. By using the FTR-K1-AM manufactured under this standard, automotive device manufacturers can ensure a certain level of quality starting from the component level.

The relay series is usable in ambient temperatures of 105°C and incorporates UL insulation class F insulation materials and UL94V-0 plastic materials.
