Aerco now supplies EcoGen recyclable wire and cable products from Alpha Wire, designed to provide improved performance in a smaller package.
Products in the range contain no halogens, phthalates or heavy metals and are 100 per cent recyclable. Their modified polyphenylene ether (mPPE) insulation and jacket materials meet RoHS and WEEE requirements regarding hazardous substances and result in significant size and weight savings compared to traditional PVC and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) wire and cable.
The family comprises four products: EcoCable, EcoFlex, EcoWire and EcoWire Plus. EcoCable is a 600V control cable said to be up to 47 per cent smaller and 65 per cent lighter than conventional PVC control cables, as well as producing 87 per cent lower outgassing. EcoFlex offers similar size and weight benefits for moderate flex applications up to one million flex life cycles with an eight times flexing bend radius.
EcoWire hook-up wire is claimed to be up to 45 per cent smaller, 40 per cent lighter and ten times tougher than traditional PVC hook-up wire. Completing the range is EcoWire Plus, a compact and lightweight version of EcoWire that meets ISO 6722 standard for fluid resistance to oils, chemicals, solvents and fuels.
