Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the DS28C36 DeepCover® secure authenticator from Maxim Integrated. The DS28C36 provides additional levels of IP and device integrity protection for industrial, medical, and Internet of Things (IoT) products.
Maxim’s DS28C36 DeepCover secure authenticator, available from Mouser Electronics, provides a targeted set of asymmetric-key (ECC-P256) and symmetric-key (SHA-256) cryptographic tools in a low-cost and compact solution to defend against product counterfeiting, unsafe reuse of medical accessories, and vulnerable network-connected sensor nodes. The DS28C36 provides two authenticated general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins with optional secure state control and level sensing as well as a unique function to enhance secure download/boot features. The device also integrates sophisticated countermeasures to protect against invasive and noninvasive security attacks. End applications include bi-directional authentication, secure storage of system data (such as system crypto keys), verification of system-critical data, secure boot, and end product usage control.
For applications where the host system microcontroller has insufficient computing resources for ECC algorithms or lacks required secure storage for a SHA-256 symmetric key, Mouser also stocks the DS2476 DeepCover secure processor. The DS2476 is a companion co-processor to the DS28C36, and can compute any required keyed-hash message authentication code (HMACs) or Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) signatures to do any operation on the DS28C36. Both the DS28C36 and DS2476 are supported by the DS28C36EVKIT evaluation system, which consists of five DS28C36/DS2476 devices in a 6-pin TDFN package, a DS9121AQ+ evaluation TDFN socket board, and a DS9481P-300# USB-to-I2C/1-Wire® adapter.
