Optimistic outlook for interconnect

UK connector revenues will be up four to six per cent for 2023 year-end, with distribution gaining share at 54 per cent. In its full-year report for 2023, ITSA members remain optimistic, despite a tough year. Markets continue to vary markedly in performance, with sharp declines in the communications and mass transport markets.

Key statistics include: order-book down eight per cent against 2022; book-to-bill remains positive at 1:02; some key markets showed more encouraging signs with mil/aero and test/measurement up 17 per cent and medical up 12 per cent; declines of 23 to 34 per cent in communications and broadcast, while data-processing showed a 27 per cent increase year-on-year.

Despite market volatility, ITSA members have met their optimistic projection of a small growth for the year-end. However, they are more cautious about 2024, anticipating a flatoverall market.
